Helen finds design inspiration in fine fabrics, travel, art of all kinds, and the personal style of fashion icons throughout history. Sometimes a new idea for a dress is as simple as imagining an iconic woman in a beautiful place–Audrey Hepburn in Nice or Charlotte Gainsbourg in São Paulo. Through her designs, Helen hopes to share her own fondness for the elegance of fashion's past with a contemporary sensibility.

Jana Lisle Parham is a Certified Financial Planner® with UBS, working

with clients who are enjoying the "FiftyForward" phase of their lives. In 2009 she became the second professional in Tennessee to earn her CPWA® (Certified Private Wealth Advisor) designation. Jana is on the FiftyForward Board, was co chair of the Crown Affair for 2011 and co chairs the Development Committee. She is past president of the FiftyForward Endowment Board and is currently on its Investment Committee.

Chad Blackburn, a Nashville native, is a healthcare provider with Credence Health. He serves on the board of the board of the Phoenix Club is Nashville, Tennessee Health Information Management Systems Society, and the Bacchanalian Society of Nashville.

Chad is an Eagle Scout, has run with the bulls in Pamplona and been cliff diving in Cinque Terra Italy. He set a half-marathon personal record of 1:23 and completed a half-ironman

triathlon. He currently trains with the Vanderbilt University Track Club.

Angela Messina is an artist, clothing designer, and musician. She was educated at St. Andrew's Sewanee School and Rhodes College but her arts education in fiber arts and surface design was at Memphis College of Art. Angela currently works at Halcyon Books, a tiny independent bookstore specializing in underground comics, magazines, pamphlets, graphic novels and books. Since 2004, she also has also worked at Granny Square Galler and Clothing.

Angela is a seamstress, painter, home stager; has designed, manufactured and installed custom made drapery, window treatments, and bedding. In addition, Angela works as a art director for video production, set design, and album covers.

Angela's permanent installations and murals are at Third Man Records on 6th Ave. South and Merchants Restaurant on Broadway.

25 year-old Nashville native, Haden Wiley is currently pursuing her MBA at Belmont University’s Jack C. Massey School of Business with an emphasis in Finance. Haden also currently works for Wiley Bros.-Aintree, Capital, LLC. as an Administrative Assistant.

Haden enjoys volunteering with various non-profit organizations in Nashville, and is currently co-chair of the 2011 Wine & Swine Event supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and is also auction co-chair for Harvest Moon Ball supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank. Haden also enjoys traveling in her spare time; most recently she traveled to Cape Town South Africa with her MBA class and went on a safari, and dove with Great White sharks. Haden also enjoys designing invitations, and working on her design blog My Pink House.

An attorney, Kathy lives in the Nashville area with her husband and youngest son. Kathy expresses her creative side in jewelry design. She especially likes working with natural materials including, semi-precious stones, coral, wood, nuts, bone, and cords made of leather, linen, or waxed cotton. She enjoys the challenges of making custom, made-to-order pieces and once made a necklace and earring set to convey the beauty of the patterns found on giraffes. Charles Lord was founded in 2005 by Charles Brownas a solely custom-design apparel firm. Today, Charles Lord offers both a Couture collection and a Boutique line of limited edition, hand-made, ready-to-wear. With the historical influence of the business and beauty of the Parisian Haute Couture, Charles Lord is known formaintaining a unique balance between vintage inspiration and contemporary relevancy in design; the clothing has a definitively classic style of elegant exuberance and supreme sophistication.

Charles Brown was born and raised in Nashville, TN. He first showed a talent for fashionaround the age of nine, but it wasn't until in high school that he decided to make his passion his career. Devouring every morsel of information he could ascertain about fashion history, design, textiles, andthe business of fashion, he set out to study fashion design and merchandising/marketing in Atlanta, GA, and later in Franklin,TN. Since college, Charles has gained much insight and experience by working in the industry in a variety of areas and locations, including Nashville, Atlanta, Miami, and New York, and with such institutions as the Atlanta Apparel Mart and New York Fashion Week.

Rita Mitchell is the Sr. VP manager at First Tennessee Bank. Her hobbies include cooking, swimming and golf. She has been married for 31 years to her husband Fulton Mitchell. She also has a daughter, Britt Mitchell.

Suzanne Sevier Rowland was born and ra

ised in Nashville and received a BA in Economics from the University of Tennessee. After a few years in Banana-Republic-button-downs-and-black-slacks, she knew that corporate America was not a good fit (no pun intended). She had always sewn clothes for fun throughout high school and college but the idea of making a living doing that didn't occur to her until her late 20's. She enrolled in fashion school while living in Atlanta, but within a year knew that she needed to move to NYC to be in a better fashion school and to have the resources available that are not available living in the south.

She enrolled in the pattern making program at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and also scored a job in the city's top fabric store, Mood Fabrics.

It was in 2004 when the concept of a skirts-only line using fabulous fabrics took hold!

Suzanne's friend Haley was visiting from out of town and went nuts when she saw the number of skirts that Suzanne had sewn in her free time. Haley wore them everywhere she went, inspiring Suzanne to create more. Sevier Skirts was born out of the effort to keep up with the steady stream of demand for one-of-a-kind custom skirts that she and her friends generated that Spring!

The home party concept developed in 2005. The first few parties were friends helping her out, but by year two, parties began to fill the calendar booked by strangers that had just discovered the "girl who makes skirts". Sevier Skirts' sales doubled every year thereafter and in 2010 the sales trainee program was developed. There are 4 Skirt Schools each year to teach women how to grow Sevier Skirts businesses in their own city and how to measure customers for that perfect Sevier Skirts fit. The Skirt Shop is staffed with assembly trained seamstresses, cutters, managers, and quality controllers who are accurate, fast, and who take pride in their work.

Suzanne doesn't see herself as a designer, but she sees her occupation as an entrepreneur. "My intentions are to continue to grow my sales staff and production staff to a point in which it will run itself. Currently I am free of all production responsibilities. My responsibilities lie in doing out of town sales and finding and training new sales reps. I feel that this role is also one that can be delegated out in due time. Therefore, my inspirations are business owners such as Tony Hsieh of Zappos andmy old boss at Mood Fabrics, Philip Sauma, who started as a fabric jobber but now has grown his empire to include silk and cotton printing and manufacturing and design and manufacturing teams in Vietnam and China whose biggest clients are amazon.com and Anthropologie."

Suzanne has an economics degree from UT Knoxville and went to fashion school in Atlanta at AIU for two years and also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York for over a year.
The proudest moment of her design career was winning Entrepreneur of 2010 in the City Paper. It was also the year that pushed her company over $1 million in sales.

Designer: Bonita Model: Beth Alexander

Bonita Dudley Scott has been a designer for over 20 years. She first began sewing in her hometown of Dallas, Texas in 1960, under the instruction of her elementary school teacher. In 1962, Bonita and her family moved to Nashville, where her interest in sewing started to grow to include costume and original design.

In 1983, Bonita started her own design business called "Sew Savoir-Faire" which has created the wedding gown for Nashville radio personality, U-Turn Laverne, replicated the Fisk Jubilee Singers outfits for the musical 'A Joyful Noise', and has become a favorite of rock 'n' roll legend, Little Richard.

The proudest moment of her career so far was "...Seeing Little Richard on the "TV Land Awards Show" stage in a design I created for him specifically for that show."

Bonita draws inspiration for her eclectic and diverse designs from her clients positions, styles and tastes. Her designs are exclusive and one-of-a-kind.

The model for Bonita Dudley Scott is Beth Alexander. Beth is the Vice president of Private Banking and Community and Investor Relations at CapStar Bank. She is also an Nfocus columnist and the President of the Nashville Public Library Foundation. Beth has two sons, Dave and Cal.

Sarah as been sewing since she was 4 and designing and making garments since she was 12. Her inspiration is all around her, from fabric, a beautiful sunset, an old jazz song on the radio -- she never knows when something will inspire her to sketch or just start sewing.

Sarah as a BFA in Fashion Design and Merchandising from O'More College of Design in Franklin,

Tennessee,graduating in 2008. "When I moved here for school I never dreamed I would stay, but the fashion

scene here has become such an amazing and constantly growing industry! I am so excited to be a part of it! Nashville is fashion smart and appreciates the art of fashion on a fantastic level!"

The proudest moment of her design career was winning the Senior Design award at O'More and also ever time she sees her designs walk down the runway, aisle or even the street!

Hugh Howser was born and raised in Nashville, and has now established himself as the city's premier event designer and lifestyle expert with H Three Events.

Laura started designing clothes for her dolls and teddy bears when she was 4. Her mother sewed professionally and she spent a lot of time in the shop creating clothes from drapery remnants. Her mother, Patti, inspired her to learn dressmaking. She taught her how important the details areand that the inside of the garment should be as beautiful as the outside. Her stepmother, Vicky, has a passion for fashion and her unique, current and utterly chic style is totally contagious.

"I was raised by the gentlest and most humble couturier in existence. She would never admit it, but her skill and depth of knowledge far surpasses my own, and rivals the quality of any design house that can be found."

Vickie Horne is the owner of the promotional products company, Gifts Not Forgotten, which provides logo merchandise to corporations to assist with their marketing goals. Gifts Not Forgotten donates a portion of the profits back to the community and non-profits in the area, such as FiftyForward. Vickie currently serve on the FiftyForward board.

When not "modeling", Vickie likes to spend time at Center Hill Lake with her family in the summer & attend Titans Games in the fall. She is currently the co-chair of the 2011 Symphony Ball.
